Crispos Memorial Tomb

It was made in memory of the ancient Egyptian pantomime artist Krispos, who performed in Kdz.Ereğli and died there. There is a 19-line poem written by digging in front of the monument, which is 2.10 m high with its base. The monument consists of two columns with Corinthian capitals sitting on a high pedestal, a hollow with a headless bust between the columns and a crown part designed as a triangular roof. The following is written on the inscription on this grave monument, made in the name of Krispos, the famous pantomime artist of the period.

“Tombs are people's last homes and their last walls. they are more loyal to bodies than houses. What remained of them are the tears shed and the eternal inheritance of the dead. After the sleep of death, the beauty of the body can no longer be recovered. This is a city of water. A solid eternal resting place, carried naked and buried inside. It is the eternal home.

What kind of grave is this and who lies here?

It is a hateful monument of victories in life. Signs of stone and earth. Express the dead with your silent letters on the gravestones of the dead. Which person named this place after you lost your body and perished?

Dead human Krispos. The citizen of the Land of Fariz (Egypt) and the spike-bearing Nile River lies beneath this monument.
